It's Not Just Me

  1. Don't you just love Jimmy Carter! I thought of you when I heard this piece on the news this morning. Stupidity breeds bias and fear. How did our nation dumb down so drastically?

  2. Love me some President Carter! He was President when I was born, and I really like peanuts, too. We all knew it wasn't just you, Sweet Lady.

What size are your jeans? I might want them:)

  3. Jan- I do, I do, I DO love Jimmy Carter. Always have. I don't know if we're dumbing down or if the racists and haters are just crawling out of the woodwork. And if so- FINE! Roaches are always easier to smash when they're running around in the light.

Ms. Windy- Uh-huh! I am not giving those jeans away. I am going to wear them. This winter. I swear. But if I did give them away, I'd give them to you. Feeling any better?

  4. Did you know that the titles to these 2 recent posts are interchangeable?? I think that's super cool!

How much do we love Jimmy?

    A metric fuck ton!

  5. It's wonderful to hear Jimmy Carter speaking out, but sad that it's even necessary.
But we will persist and triumph. I hope.

  6. He's saying what a lot of us are thinking. Actually, I read Maureen Dowd's column in the NYT yesterday, and she said the same. And last night, the ABC news showed white men wearing their guns to these town meetings and rallies and such....
The rumor that Obama is a Muslim never went away, not even after McCain told a woman at a rally that he wasn't last year. A lot of ignorant white people are terrified that we have a black president. Personally, I was terrified when the idiot W had his finger on the 'nu-cu-lar' trigger!

  7. I have to agree, I think there are racist roots at work.

  8. He knows as only a southern white man can know what is behind the hysteria.

  9. I'm glad Jimmy Carter verified and gave credibility to what you and others of us have said. It's great that Carter speaks his mind and tells it like it is! Love him!

President Obama seems to be handling all this well. I was worried about him until I saw him on 60 Minutes. I am still scared about these racist nutcases out there.

  10. Ms. Fleur- That's true! And a metric fuck ton? YES! I love it!

Rachel- Yes. It is darn sad we have to talk about these things but we do.

    Mwa- I admire him tremendously.

Ms. Lucy- I think "muslim" is code word for black, too. And hell yeah! I was terrified when GW was president. Every fucking second.

    Marsha- You're not alone.

    Al- Or woman.

Joy- Jimmy Carter has nothing whatsoever to lose by speaking his mind. He is never going to run for anything again. Which is why you can trust him to be telling the truth as he sees it.
And yes, Obama is cool and handling all of this well. He must have known that things like this would happen but he seems to have a huge soul.

  12. Angie- I don't know about being as smart as Jimmy Carter. But it makes me FEEL smart just to have similar feelings.
